365 Photos in 365 Days

I'm not a photographer, my camera is nothing special, and I'm not promising art, here. But the idea is to take one picture a day, every day, for a year. I hope to develop a better eye, get better at using my camera, and produce a day-by-day chronicle of 2010, my Year of Creating Dangerously.

An American Girl and her American Girl
My niece and her doll Nikki, who flew to Denver from Maryland for the Grand Opening of the American Girl Store at Park Meadows Mall. This day, the line was too long to wait in, but we are not sending her back to Maryland until we get her across the threshold.

Fish-Breathing Dragon
So our betta, Fishy McGee, has taken to hiding out in the mouth of this dragon. It usually looks like he's being eaten, which was the photo I was after, but then he went all Breath-of-Fire!

Self-portrait with busted camera.
So this here camera (which I've had for a bit) up and quit on me today, having faithfully documented the first 73 days of the year. Took this photo with my computer, and tomorrow will be replacing this camera with a new one, hopefully with the stamina to see me through the year. This can also be a photo of my new glasses.

This is a Very Denver shot, with the City Park boat house in the background.
I am liking the Every Day aspect of this project, even though some days it daunts. You can't rest on the laurels of your Good Shots, but you aren't forced to dwell on your Less Inspired ones, either. You post something every day, and in two days you've practically forgotten about the lacklustre photo that you were sure would haunt you to your grave.

"Notre Denver," this thing is called.
I try to keep the use of effects to a minimum on the photos I post here, but I thought the red enhanced the whole creepy weirdness of this suitcase gargoyle at baggage claim at DIA. Hooray for being the one in charge of the rules!
